Vantara Community Center

2025 • Architecture of Community Beginning with the question “What is a community?”, the 95 sq m pavilion is conceived as an adaptable, open-ended space for gathering, interaction, celebration, and pause. Open on all sides, it dissolves the boundary between architecture and landscape, creating a permeable space without a defined front or rear. At its centre, a sweeping natural thatch roof provides shelter, shade, and a tactile connection to vernacular building traditions. Rather than prescribing how people gather, the pavilion creates a flexible framework for community life to unfold organically.

Nisarg

2025 • Located within the farmlands near Devergudihal village on the outskirts of Hubballi, Karnataka, "Nisarg" is a modest, budget-conscious 1,600 sq. ft. weekend home built for INR 35 lakhs as a quiet retreat from urban life. Designed with a geometric logic of interlocked squares and rectangles, the house is organized into public and private zones structured around an existing mango tree, which acts as a central spatial anchor for the living space, kitchen, dining area, and outdoor deck. Oriented along an east-west axis, the architecture optimizes environmental performance through clerestory windows, large openings, and high ceilings for natural light and cross-ventilation, while its bedrooms feature extended plinths that reinterpret the traditional 'katte'. The house utilizes a lightweight fabricated roof framework with clay tiles inspired by the local village to aid in heat dissipation and thermal comfort, embracing a material language of restraint, simplicity, and austerity to quietly integrate into its rural environment

Sushil Laddha Villa is envisioned as a contemporary residence that balances refined aesthetics with a warm, welcoming character. Clean architectural lines, generous natural light, and carefully selected materials come together to create a calm and elegant living environment. Every space is thoughtfully designed to support comfort, privacy, and a seamless connection between the home and its surroundings.

Nitin Lohiya’s Flat

Nitin Lohiya’s flat interior is designed as a sophisticated yet comfortable home, combining clean contemporary lines with warm, inviting details. A considered selection of textures, colours, lighting, and custom furniture brings character to each space while ensuring a seamless flow throughout the residence. The result is an elegant and functional interior tailored to modern living.

Uday’s Residence

Uday’s Residence Uday’s Residence explores how maximum spatial experience can be created within a compact footprint. Drawing from the nuances of traditional Indian living, the house reinterprets familiar ideas of thresholds, levels, light, and gathering through a contemporary architectural language. Responding to the west-facing site, the building remains relatively restrained towards the exterior, while skylights and carefully positioned openings bring natural light deep into the house. Changes in level define transitions between spaces, while a skewed entrance creates a welcoming gesture and a sense of movement upon arrival. The architecture is intentionally clean and minimal, with rough and smooth plaster used to create subtle variation across the elevations. Elements such as the sculptural staircase and shifting apertures become small architectural gestures that enrich an otherwise simple residence. The house ultimately seeks to create a lively, open, and celebratory spatial experience, demonstrating that thoughtful architecture can create richness and character independent of scale or budget. Wild Wood Farms is conceived as a peaceful countryside retreat rooted in its natural surroundings. The design explores a harmonious relationship between built form and landscape through open spaces, earthy materials, shaded verandahs, and framed views of the greenery. Created for relaxed living and meaningful gatherings, the farm house combines rustic charm with contemporary comfort, offering a calm escape from the pace of the city.
